Laughter clubs are social clubs where people get together and do Laughter Yoga exercises usually for an hour to reap the multiples health benefits of laughter and breathing exercises. It provides a rich social network of caring and sharing relationships. They are non-political, non-religious and non-profit organizations run under the auspices of Laughter Yoga International. The utlimate objective is to bring good health,  joy and world peace through laughter.

The Ottawa Sunflower Laughter Club was launched in October 2006 by Sophie Terrasse, who earned her Laughter Yoga™ certification directly from Dr. Kataria, M.D., founder of the Laughter Yoga™ movement in Mumbai, India.

The sessions are bilingual.

  • Bring a pillow, a water bottle and your warmest smile!

All activity coordination in the club is volunteer-based; a small fee serves to cover facility fees as well as to support  “Le Centre Carmen”. Indeed, all benefits of the club are donated to la fondation Carmen in Gatineau* (center offering supplementary care to persons suffering from cancer, multiple sclerosis, neurological trauma, etc.)

The Sunflower Laughter Club of Ottawa is proud to contribute to the annual fundraiser at le Centre Carmen by participating in the Dragon Boat competition, which is held every year in the month of June.
